        Patrick D. Mauldin, PhD


Dr. Mauldin is a health economist and Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina.  He has over 20 years of expertise with the design and analysis of evaluations involving large epidemiologic and multi-center clinical trials. Dr. Mauldin’s methodological interests involve the multivariate modeling and analysis of large outcomes studies.  He is directing the Comparative Effectiveness Research initiative at SCTR.

       At the completion of this session, the participant will be able to:

1.  Discuss Comparative Effectiveness Research and understand the different methodologies that are acceptable as CER.
2.  Discuss the Patient Center Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) as well as SCTR’s role in CER at MUSC.
