Dr Bachman grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended Cornell University as an undergraduate. He then returned to Atlanta to attend medical school at Emory University. Dr Bachman remained at Emory for two years of residency training in Internal Medicine and three additional years of training in Neurology. He then completed a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology at Boston University. Dr. Bachman remained in Boston on faculty at Boston University until 1989 when he and his wife, Marjorie, and their two sons,  moved to Charleston (6 weeks before Hurricane Hugo!). He has held a number of positions since coming to Charleston including co-director of the Alzheimer Research and Clinical Program, Associate Chief of Staff for Geriatrics at the Charleston VA, co-Director of the Center on Aging, and Director of the division of Neurology within the Department of Neurosciences. He currently coordinates efforts of the Departments of Neurosciences and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to develop the MUSC sleep research program.

       At the completion of this session, the participant will be able to:

1.  List the known causes of dream enactment behavior.
2.  Describe the relationship between dream enactment behavior and REM Behavior Disorder.
