Dr. Haren matriculated to the Medical University of South Carolina where he was the first graduate of the combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry program. Dr. Hearn is board certified in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Psychosomatic Medicine He used his combined training for the practical application of psychosomatics in oncology as well as geriatric psychiatry. He has interests in cycling, boating and Spanish literature. He has two children ages 3 and 5. Professional interests include primary care of the seriously mentally ill and consultation liaison psychiatry. Dr. Haren is currently in the director of inpatient psychiatric services at the VA Medical Center in Charleston South Carolina. | | | | | OBJECTIVES | | At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to: | | | - Develop practical knowledge regarding potential medical complications resulting from the use of commonly prescribed psychotropic compounds
