  SPEAKER BIOs

     Christine Pelic, M.D. 

Dr. Pelic is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina.  She is the attending for inpatient consultation liaison psychiatry and an outpatient psychiatrist in the behavioral medicine clinic.  Dr Pelic completed her medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo) and her psychiatric internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.  She is board certified in Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine.
    
    Diana Bunzel, MSN 
Ms. Diana Bunzel, MSN, CNS-BC, currently practices as a Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Nurse at MUSC. An Advanced Practice Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse since 1981, Diana has practiced in various roles including Clinical Leadership, Education, and Administration.
  
    Teresa Medley, MSW 
Ms. Teresa Medley is a social worker in the Digestive Disease Center at MUSC.
       
     Dee Ford, MD (facilitator)
Dr. Ford is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed her medical training at Johns Hopkins and the Medical University of South Carolina.  Her interests include critical care and palliative care.
    
     Lilless Shilling, PhD (facilitator)
 Dr. Shilling is a Professor in MUSC’s College of Health Professions
   
      OBJECTIVES                                                                                                                                                               
         At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to:
       

1) Identify a multidisciplinary forum where caregivers can discuss difficult emotional and social issues that arise in caring for patients.

2) Facilitate interdisciplinary team efforts when providing resource-intensive care to patients with medical and psychiatric co-morbidities
