At the completion of this session, the participant should be able to:
      
1) Understand the psychobiology of serotonergic systems in the central nervous system.
2) Describe the types of investigative approaches that have been utilized in studying the role of serotonin in the pathophysiology and treatment of depression, including the strengths and limitations of each of these approaches.
3) Understand the relationship between serotonin receptor subtypes and side effects that are associated with SSRI treatment.
