Psychiatry Residency Manual Revised June 15, 2009 This document provides current information about the 4-year General Psychiatry Residency program. There are also two separate combined residency programs: a 5-year Psychiatry/Medicine program, and a 6-year Psychiatry/Neurology program. Although managed separately, this document also provides information of relevance to the psychiatry part of the curriculum of these programs as well as the benefits for residents in these programs. General Expectations of Residents - Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled didactic sessions and clinical assignments
- Keep patients cross-covered at all times
- Do not schedule clinic patients in your absence
- Maintain current credentialing documents:
- S.C. Medical License
- Step 3 USMLE/COMLEX required for contract renewal
- ACLS and hospital compliance modules required for staff privileging
- DEA/DHEC
- Check email/mailbox regularly for announcements
- Login your work hours & maintain compliance with duty hour limits set forth by ACGME
- Promptly report any duty hour violations to the Program Director
