Biographical Sketch
  Dr. Hatzis joined the MUSC volunteer faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She supervises trainees in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division, as well as teaches third year medical students during their Psychiatry rotation. Dr. Hatzis completed medical school, Psychiatry residency, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at MUSC. She served as Chief Resident in 2004-05, as well as Chief Resident of the fellowship program in 2005-06. Dr. Hatzis received the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching in the Doctoring Curriculum in 2005-06. She also received two Circle of Excellence Awards for Outstanding Teaching in the Doctoring Curriculum and Outstanding Clinical Teaching in the Senior Clerkship in 2004-05. After finishing her fellowship, Dr. Hatzis established a solo private practice in downtown Charleston where she sees both children and adults. Her primary interests are cognitive behavioral therapy, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and ADHD. In addition to private practice, Dr. Hatzis travels to Moncks Corner to provide psychiatric treatment to underprivileged children and their families at the Berkeley County Mental Health Center, which is recognized nationally as a medically underserved area.
