Biographical Sketch
Therese Killeen, PhD, APRN, BC is Research Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science and an advanced practice registered nurse in the Addiction Science Division at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her PhD in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and Medical University of South Carolina.  Dr. Killeen has worked in the addiction field for over 25 years as a clinician, supervisor and researcher in both academic and community settings.  She has been principal and co-investigator on numerous pharmacotherapy and behavioral research studies. Dr. Killeen’s special expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based relapse prevention and motivational interviewing, including Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT).  She has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers for over 13 years.  Over the past 22 years, Dr. Killeen has been working in the area of integrated therapies for comorbid PTSD and SUD.
