Biographical Sketch
Dr. LaRowe’s full-time VA position involves training and consulting with primary care staff in the use of patient-centered communication (e.g. Motivational Interviewing) in support of programs that promote lifestyle changes (e.g. diet, exercise, smoking cessation) and collaborative patient-clinician relationships.   He has specialty training in addictions and is involved in a number of research studies at the VA and MUSC.  He continues to provide clinical services in the evening Intensive Outpatient Program at the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs.
