A.Lee Lewis, MD is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Youth Division at the Medical University of SC (MUSC), where he completed both his General Psychiatry residency and C&A fellowship (serving as chief during the 2010-2011 academic year). He is a graduate of Wofford College with a BS in Psychology and an emphasis in Pre-medical studies and Theatre. His research endeavors thus far have focused on adolescent substance misuse of prescription medications. An accomplished actor and improviser, Lee is also dedicated to examining the positive role that the arts may play in treating adolescent psychopathology such as substance abuse, anxiety, personality disorders, and depression. Lee is also an award winning teacher at MUSC and in his young career has won the Department of Psychiatry Golden Apple Award four times (08,09,10,11), and the MUSC College of Medicine AMSA house-staff teacher of the year award in 2009. Lee is a part of the teaching curriculum for MUSC medical students, psychiatry residents, ER residents, neurology residents, and physician assistants. He has also been invited to give symposiums for the pediatric and nursing faculties on campus on numerous occasions.
