Biographical Sketch
Dr. Aimee McRae-Clark is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences as well as the Department of Neuroscience at MUSC. In addition, she is an adjunct Professor in the MUSC College of Pharmacy. The majority of Dr. McRae-Clark’s research focuses on medication development for substance use disorders, primarily for cannabis and cocaine dependence. In addition, Dr. McRae-Clark has had a long-standing interest in research related to women’s health and is co-Director of the MUSC Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) on Sex and Gender Factors Affecting Women’s Health. Recently, Dr. McRae-Clark was awarded a Mid-Career Award in Patient Oriented Research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse focused on increasing the participation and retention of underrepresented minorities and women in addictions research.
