Margaret M. Moran-Santa Maria, Ph.D.

Dr. Moran-Santa Maria is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Neurosciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry. Her primary research interests include (1) the neurobiologic mechanisms that underscore gender differences in substance use disorders and (2) the impact of early life trauma on the oxytocin system in mediating risk and resilience to psychiatric disorders. Dr. Moran-Santa Maria received a B.S. in health sciences from the University of Arizona, an M.S. in biology from San Jose State University, and a Ph.D. in neurosciences from MUSC.
