She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences with a joint appointment in the College of Health Professions. She is also Director of Institutional Effectiveness for the university and serves as MUSC's liaison to its regional accrediting agency (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). Her areas of interest in research are (1) the relationship between acute and chronic stress and alcohol use, and (2) providing training to future healthcare providers on how to screen and intervene with patients with alcohol problems.
