DART SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Summer Class of 2014

SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

2015 SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM :

The MUSC DART program offers a summer research fellowship for students interested in learning more about research. The program is open to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students.  During the fellowship, students spend 10 weeks working full-time in their research mentor’s lab.  The goal of the DART Summer Fellowship Program is to introduce promising students to research, both basic science and clinical in nature, and afford them the opportunity to work closely with a research mentor and his/her investigative team. Access the application: https://redcap.musc.edu/surveys/?s=IYRzZnWjtk

Eligibility: Medical, Graduate & Undergraduate Students

Stipend amount:    $3,000

Duration:  10 weeks starting May 18th, 2015 through July 24th, 2015

Application Procedure:  Spots are limited and applications are competitive. Only a limited number of students will be able to participate each summer. Students that are accepted into the summer program will be matched with a faculty mentor based on research interests. Thus, you do not need to identify a mentor before you apply to the DART summer program. If your application is accepted, we will identify a mentor for you, and will provide you with your mentor's name and contact information so that you may contact him or her and begin preparing for the summer program. We will begin accepting applications November 03, 2014.

In order to apply, applicants need to fill out the DART Summer Fellowship application, which can be found here. Included in the application:

  • A copy of the applicant’s curriculum vita.  For ideas on how to prepare this please see the following link: http://medicine.osu.edu/students/life/career_advising/pages/cv.aspx
  • A brief statement (1 pg or less) of why the applicant is interested in spending the summer in research.  The applicant should also include a description of particular areas of interest to help us with mentor selection.
