Women's Health Research Day 2014
We were excited to welcome Larry Cahill, Ph.D., Professor of Neurobiology and Behavior at USC-Irvine, as plenerary speaker for the second annual Womens Health Research Day (lecture title, Sex and Hemisphere Influences on Emotional Memory: The Burden of Proof has Shifted). Dr. Cahill is a long-standing leader in the area of brain and memory, and more recently has become one of the m ost influential leaders on the topic of sex influences on the brain.

Women's Health Research Day 2013
The first annual Womens Health Research Day, held April 18, 2013, included scientific presentations and poster sessions highlighting sex and gender-based work conducted across campus. Plenerary speakers included Dr. Harriett de Wit, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Chicago (lecture title, Determinants of drug preference: Translational Studies) and Dr. Cora Lee Wetherington, Chair of NIDA’s Women and Sex/Gender Differences Research Group and NIDA’s representative to the NIH Coordinating Committee of the Office of Research on Women’s Health (lecture title, The Ubiquity of Sex/Gender Differences in Drug Abuse).
