MUSC’s Women’s Research Center (WRC) is pleased to announce a "Call for Abstracts" for the Second Annual Women’s Health Research Day, which will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in the Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium.
Abstracts are due on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 12:00 noon – FIRM
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Postdocs and junior faculty from all disciplines are invited to submit abstracts pertaining to either sex/gender differences or disorders/treatments as they uniquely relate to women. Author may be the presenter for only one abstract. Submit completed research only – not research planned or just started. Presenting authors should indicate whether abstract should be considered for ORAL or POSTER presentation. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be designated for poster presentation.

| Womens Health Research Day 2013|
The first annual Womens Health Research Day, held April 18, 2013, included scientific presentations and poster sessions highlighting sex and gender-based work conducted across campus. Plenerary speakers included Dr. Harriett de Wit, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Chicago (lecture title, Determinants of drug preference: Translational Studies) and Dr. Cora Lee Wetherington, Chair of NIDA’s Women and Sex/Gender Differences Research Group and NIDA’s representative to the NIH Coordinating Committee of the Office of Research on Women’s Health (lecture title, The Ubiquity of Sex/Gender Differences in Drug Abuse).
