A Constitutional Amendment

Article II.  Section 2, revision
Article VI.  Section 1 (b), revision

Purpose: To revise the current constitution to include reference to the previously passed 'Campus-wide organization petition for voting membership' (Bill. No 08-02) and the 'Appropriations Bill' (Bill No. 08-03).

Whereas currently Article II. Section 2 of the constitution states, "By a 2/3 majority vote of the SGA, a university-wide student organization may have one representative on the SGA. Whenever a re-calculation of representatives is performed, universitywide committees who have already been recognized will continue to be recognized.  Currently recognized university-wide student organizations: Multicultural Student Advisory Board, International Student Association":

Whereas currently Article VI, section 1, (b) states "The SGA shall work to cosponsor campus-wide programs with other student organizations. An organization wishing to co-sponsor an event with the MUSC SGA must share the related expenses and event assistance 50/50."

Be it enacted by the Medical University of South Carolina Student Government Association assembled in regular session the following:

That a clause be added to Article II. Section 2 to read, "By a 2/3 majority vote of the SGA, a university-wide student organization may have one representative on the SGA. Currently recognized university-wide student organizations: Multicultural Student Advisory Board, International Student Association. "

That a clause be added to Article VI, section 1, (b) to read "The SGA shall work to co-sponsor campus-wide programs with other student organizations.
