| MUSC Hospital Expansion | The procedure-based, phase-one Hospital Expansion will serve as a comprehensive facility for cardiovascular and digestive disease patient populations. This building will contain 156 beds, 9 operating rooms, 4 cath labs, 3 EP labs, 9 endoscopic procedure rooms, outpatient clinics and a full array of advanced imaging equipment to support a 21st century medical center. |
The Medical University is a leader in providing tertiary/quaternary health services for citizens in the State. The increasing demand for clinical services because of this state's aging population has outpaced the rate of constructing and renovating facilities. Creative approaches to diversifying services, improvements in patient safety, and implementing effective information systems are the highest priority. Success in these approaches will provide South Carolinians expanded access to breakthroughs in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of a wide variety of diseases.
