 | MUSC Breaks Ground for New College Building | The renovation of the existing High School of Charleston and construction of a new adjacent building will provide 80,000 square feet of space for the College of Health Professions. The college's faculty, staff, and students will gain state-of-the-art classrooms and clinical laboratories, while a historic building is reinvented as educational space for the future. The current College of Health Professions building will be retained for wet labs, certain clinical laboratory programs, and research project space. | The Medical University of South Carolina plays a critical role in educating the next generation of health care practitioners and scientists. In order to meet this challenge, the Medical University must attract intellectually engaged students and provide them with a superior learning environment.
