Mission Statement

The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery serves the State of South Carolina by:

• Providing education regarding thoracic and cardiovascular surgery to students, residents, and practicing physicians through the state;
• advancing knowledge regarding thoracic and cardiovascular disease through clinical and basic research;
• providing care to patients with all forms of thoracic and cardiovascular disease while serving as the tertiary referral center for the state.
