Dr. Schimpf is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He practices cosmetic plastic and reconstructive surgery of both the face and body. Dr. Schimpf provides reconstructive options for all types of oncologic problems. He is proficient in perforator based flaps and has extensive expertise in microsurgical techniques, more specifically DIEP free flap breast reconstruction. Dr. Schimpf is skilled in body contouring techniques that target both the face and body of patients who have undergone massive weight loss. He offers a wide variety of cosmetic procedures including, but not limited to, the mini facelift/facial rejuvenation, abdominoplasty, as well as mastopexy and breast augmentation. Currently, he is an attending surgeon at MUSC where he functions both as Assistant Professor of Surgery and as Associate Program Director for the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Training Program.
