The Translational Research in Addiction Center (TRAC) consists of four integrated research components, 2 preclinical and 2 clinical, plus a centralized Administrative Core that is focused on coordinating and supporting the research training initiatives. These projects have assembled teams of multidisciplinary researchers conducting innovative projects and developing new methodologies in a collaborative process that merges expertise and methodology across disciplines. In defining the research projects, we have strategically focused on the goal of having preclinical research that provides clear mechanistic guidance to clinical research, and on clinical research that informs new directions for the preclinical animal models. Importantly, each preclinical project is purposefully paired with a clinical project to maximize translational synergy between the laboratory and the bedside. |
