How to Get Involved in the MUSC Urban Farm

Work and Learn Sessions are held each week and provide opportunities for participants to engage in hands-on learning about sustainable urban agriculture including stewardship, planting, and harvesting.  Topics vary each week, generally relate to the current season and related tasks.

Participants are asked to sign a waiver and a photo release form, available at the Farm. Please bring water, sunscreen and wear closed toe shoes. Bring a plastic bag and take home some fresh produce in return for your work efforts when crops are ready for harvest. Open to all MUSC employees, students, and the general public. Lunch and Learns

Bring your lunch and join us for a brief gardening or nutrition presentation while enjoying an opportunity to socialize and meet new friends under the oak tree. Preregistration is not required for lunch and learns and these sessions are open to MUSC employees, students, families, and the general public. Program Requests and Reservations

The MUSC Urban Farm is available upon request for group tours, educational programs, events or meetings. If interested, please complete the program request form and the farm coordinator will follow up with scheduling information. Fees may apply for non-MUSC groups. Opportunities on the MUSC Urban Farm

Students, staff and community members are encouraged to become involved in the Urban Farm as active participants and volunteers are the key to sustaining a successful project.

As outlined above, anyone can participate by attending Work and Learn Sessions, Lunch and Learns and Special Events.  Friends of the Farm are individuals and groups who visit the farm during scheduled sessions to participate in hands-on learning about sustainable urban agricultural practices, nutrition, or other relevant topics. No prior experience is necessary.

Additional opportunities are available for those who would like to participate on a more regular basis and will receive additional training.  Farm Hands can participate in any or all of the following activities:
