University Research Council: Operations Sub-Committee

The charge of the Operations Sub-Committee of the University Research Council is to monitor the overall research environment at MUSC and make recommendations for its improvement. Such recommendations may include development of new centers, acquisition of major new instrumentation or policy changes. One of its specific functions is to examine the broader portfolio of cores across campus to ensure investigators have access to technologies or expertise necessary for their research. Another major function for the committee is to solicit feedback from faculty concerning our research environment and its infrastructure.

The committee was formed in 2014 and reports to the Associate Provost for Research. Its membership is designed to maximize representation from all colleges, faculty ranks and research areas in order to provide a University-wide view of research at MUSC. This is already an active and vibrant group who are working diligently for the good of our researchers during these challenging times.

We strongly encourage input from the research community.  Please visit the Feedback page if you wish to let us know of any issue or concern.  We also welcome faculty to our meetings to discuss a specific issue or to make a “pitch” for a new core or resource.
