MUSC A to Z

Housekeeping Services is responsible for the custodial care of all university areas, including rest rooms and circulation spaces. To ensure consistent and reliable service, a frequency schedule has been established in each area for each task.  Additional cleaning above the established cleaning schedule and cleaning for conferences, functions, and incremental project cleaning is also available and will be charged to the requesting department.

Herb joined MUSC as the housekeeping supervisor for Zone 6 in 1998.  He was promoted to supervisor of the entire MUSC campus in 2005. Herb has more than 21 years experience in hospital and university housekeeping services.  He has a Associates Degrees in Management and Merchandising from Rutledge Junior College in Charleston, SC.

Mac joined MUSC as the housekeeping supervisor for the Thurmond/Gazes Biomedical Research Building in 1997.  In 2006 he was promoted to daytime housekeeping supervisor for the entire campus.  In 1980, Mac was the in-service instructor for housekeeping at MUSC. He has over 35 years experience in hospital, nursing home, and university housekeeping services. Mac was awarded the MUSC Navigator Award for outstanding dedication and contributions made in service to the customers of MUSC in 2002. He has an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Southwest Community College in Richlands, VA.
