2013 Earth Day
MUSC’s fifth Earth Day celebration took place in the horseshoe on April 16 from 11 am to 2 pm; lunch was served by local trucks that make a special effort to use local products in all their food preparations: Outta My Huevos, Roti Rolls and Hello my Name is BBQ! Tom's Kettle Korn, Mike's Peanuts and King of Pops had additional treats!
Over 60 local businesses or organizations gathered to share a common love for the environment.
Becca Barnet "Apiary"
Becca created this piece specially for our Earth Day celebration: made entirely of recycled materials, "Apiary" clebrates the hard-working nature and the lifecycle of the honey-bee. Honeycomb cardboard is manipulated with fishing line and preserved honeybees hang mysteriously from delicate gold thread. For more on the artist and her work, click here
