Health Impact of Climate Change Time: 1:00p - 2:00p Location: Webinar on your computer Details:
Are you concerned with how climate change can impact health and well-being?
Attend this free webinar sponsored by the Climate Reality Project at 1pm, on Thursday, May 30, to explore these and other questions with nurses from Health Care Without Harm, an international coalition of hospitals, health care systems, and medical professionals.
Climate Reality's Maggie Fox will lead a discussion that will cover the unique vantage point that health care providers bring to our understanding of the impacts of carbon pollution, and cover topics such as how climate change affects our health - and what it costs us.
This 30-minute, interactive webinar will also look at the steps hospitals and health care professionals are taking to reduce health care's carbon footprint while adapting to the health-related realities of a changing climate.
Nurse participants will include the following:
- Laura Anderko PhD RN, holder of the Robert and Kathleen Scanlon Endowed Chair in Values Based Health Care at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies, Washington, DC
- Jessica Castner, PhD, Research Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo's School of Nursing, Buffalo, NY
- Beth Schenk, MHI, RN, facilitator and planner for St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula, MT.
