Climate Change

Protecting the environment and the people that depend on it from the threats and challenges imposed by climate change is a core value of MUSC Sustainability and is essential for MUSC's greater mission to build healthy communities. To do this, MUSC is committed to reducing its GHG emmissions via a Climate Action Plan.

Climate Change is caused by excess CO2 in the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels. This excess COacts like a "heat trapping blanket", trapping in the sun's energy and heating our planet's land and water.

To combat climate change MUSC seeks to lower greenhouse gas emmisions with key initiatives in: Transportation, Energy, Water, Waste, Food, and Green Building.
