Sustainability & Recycling - Reduce Waste
Reducing waste is the first step towards creating a more sustainable environment: when you avoid making garbage in the first place, you don't have to worry about disposing of it or recycling it.
At MUSC we can make a difference by not purchasing an item unless we cannot find a used one through Surplus or a refurbished one through Supply. If we have to make the purchase, then buy recycled: ask for recycled-content from the manufacturer and inquire what recycling/reclaim arrangements are available.
When planning an MUSC event, use the "Green Event Plan", "Guidelines" and "Checklist" to make sure that your event is a "Zero Waste" event!
Changing your habits is the key — think about ways you can reduce your waste when you shop, work and play. There's a ton of ways for you to reduce waste, save yourself some time and money, and be good to the Earth at the same time.

I pledge to reduce waste by taking steps to cut back on the unwanted mail I receive. I pledge to reduce waste by home composting, using a reusable shopping bag, or finding other ways to reduce waste. |
