Our building engineers manage a staff of well qualified mechanics who provide routine maintenance within their zone. | Jacob joined MUSC in 2006 as the building engineer of Zone 2. He is responsible for approximately 40 buildings on campus, the largest of which are the Hollings Cancer Center, College of Health Professions, Walton Research, and Rutledge Tower Annex. The many other facilities within the zone include the Quadrangle, County Parking Garage, and Family Medicine. Prior to MUSC, he gained project management and general contractor experience working for a residential homebuilding firm in the Charleston area, and doing various internships/design projects for manufacturing plants in upstate South Carolina. Jacob is a certified E.I.T. by the South Carolina Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration minor from Clemson University. Jacob is also a student of University of South Carolina pursuing his Masters in Business Administration. | | Lindsey joined Engineering and Facilities in 2005 as the building engineer for Zone 3. She is responsible for more than 500,000 square feet of facilities including the Basig the Basic Science Building, Darby Children’s Research Institute, Education Center Library building, and MRE. Lindsey came to MUSC with three years of construction experience with the South Carolina Deparment of Transportation and Fluor Corporation. Lindsey is a certified E.I.T. by the South Carolina Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. | | Andy joined Engineering and Facilities in 2006 as the building engineer of Zone 4. He is responsible for The Thurmond/Gazes Biomedical Research Building, the Harper Student Center and the Wellness Center. Before Andy joined MUSC, he was the director of construction services at Columbia University in New York City, NY for 23 years where he managed capital projects. Andy is a graduate of the City University of New York with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is also a licensed property adjuster for the state of South Carolina. | | [photo] | [qualifications paragraph] | | Steve joined MUSC in 1996, bringing 16 years of experience in residential and light commercial construction. He became the building engineer for Zone 6 in 1998. Zone 6 includes approximately 40 buildings with Harborview Office Tower, College of Health Professions and the Institute of Psychiatry among the largest.
