Inventory
1. One of our Principal Investigators is leaving MUSC and wants to take the equipment that was purchased on their grant to another institution. Is this allowable?
2. Do I need to inform Property Control when I move equipment from room to room or building to building, but within the same department?
3. My department has a new researcher (PI) who has brought several equipment items with them. Should I put these items on my inventory?
4. How do I know if an equipment item is supposed to be tagged? For instance, we just received a large refrigerator. Should it be tagged or not?
 
Surplus
1. Can an employee purchase an old computer from the Warehouse?
2. My department has old computers. How do I get rid of them?
3. Can my department get equipment from surplus?
4. My department has obsolete equipment, but we can reuse some of the parts. What do I need to do?
5. How do I surplus equipment?
6. We have equipment items valued at less than the capital equipment threshold of $5,000 that we don't need and some items are not in working condition. Can we just trash them?
