The MUSC Biosafety Cabinet Service Program
To schedule a Biosafety Cabinet inspection, please call Risk Management at 843-792-3604
A centralized biosafety cabinet service program has been created to facilitate the annual certification of biosafety cabinets, clean benches and cage changing stations in MUSC research facilities. This program is intended to ease scheduling, control costs and support research by ensuring biosafety cabinets are certified and maintained in accordance with industry standards.
The links below outline the operation of the biosafety cabinet service program. Each Investigator is responsible for ensuring the biosafety cabinets used for their experiments are certified at initial installation, annually thereafter and when moved or repaired.
The following links detail the function of biological safety cabinets and provide guidance for their proper use.
