Located at 17 Ehrhardt Street, Suite 5, the Office of Health Promotion houses MUSC Employee Wellness Program, MUSC Urban Farm, Porcher Medicinal Garden and serves as an organization-wide resource for multi-disciplinary health promotion and wellness programs and initiatives.
Mission:
The Office of Health Promotion seeks to educate the MUSC community on the lifelong benefits of maintaining a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle; to empower students and employees to make informed decisions and develop skills that enhance well-being; to foster a campus environment in which members of the organization thrive intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically by developing collaborative, cross university relationships and educational outreach guided by the MUSC mission.
Goals and Objectives:
• Develop a multi-disciplinary University-wide entity that builds on MUSC’s unique structure to foster excellence in health and wellness promotion, education, research and service activities.
• Utilize the intellectual capital of the entire organization to create a cohesive and collaborative force in health promotion and that will provide opportunities to positively impact the health of MUSC students, faculty and staff as well as members of the broader community.
• Coordinate with leaders of all areas involved in health promotion, education, research & disease prevention to establish individual, shared and university health and wellness goals; encourage coordination and collaboration both internally and with the external environment; and obtain commitment to excellence.
